Since we’re taking our morning men's meetings into a theological direction for the time being, plus we’re hitting some important topics in 1 John, this Friday we want to combine these two things. I want us to talk about worldliness & security of salvation.

Part 1 - Worldliness

Just one question to think through: How does the world try to change or influence us men?

Part 2 - Perseverance of the Saints

This last Sunday we briefly talked about security of salvation in 1 John 2. I want us to continue that discussion.

Since we don’t have too much time till the meeting, I want to keep your assignment pretty brief.

Please read their brief blog post about why security of salvation is not just some “secondary” doctrine, but that it impacts a lot of other theological topics as well (LINK).

Consider these questions:

How has the doctrine of “the perseverance of the saints” affected your spiritual walk?
Is this a doctrine that you have struggled with in the past, or are currently struggling with, and why?
Think biblically about this topic, what other Scripture references are helpful for this discussion?
If someone does not accept this doctrine, what are they “missing” out on? Is it that important? (This is where the second article comes in).
